For you as a company, it is essential to know which payment methods you should offer your customers and which you shouldn't. Debit and credit cards

Mastercard

One of the world's leading credit cards with its acceptance network. Protected in online shops with the optional security procedure "Mastercard Secure Code".

Debit Mastercard

Wherever you see the Mastercard logo in stores or online you can pay with the Debit Mastercard. The amount is debited from the cardholder's account immediately.

Maestro Card

Is one of the world's leading debit card systems. Maestro is frequently combined with the German girocard in the form of co-branding.

VISA

The international credit card is accepted in more than 200 countries and regions at 44 million acceptance points. Protected in online shops with the optional security procedure "Verified by Visa".

V PAY

The secure bank card can be used throughout Europe and often worldwide in stores and at ATMs. V PAY is frequently combined with the German girocard in the form of co-branding.

girocard

The best-known debit card in Germany, with numerous features. Thanks to co-branding with international debit systems, it can also be used for payment abroad.

Apple Pay

The Apple Pay payment system enables mobile payment with the iPhone and the Apple Watch in stationary shops. Transactions are made using NFC technology and the App Wallet. In addition, online purchases can be made with Apple Pay on the Mac or iPad.

Google Pay

Google Pay, formerly known as Android Pay, enables contactless payment with mobile devices that have an Android operating system. The payment process is carried out via NFC technology if the deposited card is accepted. After successful payment, the customer receives a transaction confirmation on his mobile device.

American Express

Offers numerous credit cards for private and business customers as well as bonus programs that can be used around the world (accept American Express now).

Diners Club

The world's first credit card still offers exclusivity today as well as a range of advantages for private and business cardholders.

Discover

Discover Global Network is the third largest payment network in the world and a popular payment card in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

JCB

Japan's largest credit card organization is growing continuously with its acceptance network in Asia, the USA and Europe, and is frequently used in tourist regions.

Union Pay

Is the only Chinese credit card organization and the fastest growing credit card brand in the world. Chinese cardholders like to pay with this when they travel.

DK

The Danish Dankort (DK) is the preferred payment card in Denmark. This is generally combined with a Visa card, so that it can also be used abroad.

CB

CB is the leading payment system in France: this card is used locally in more than 1.5 million shops and also used to pay for around 80% of online transactions.

e. bleue

The e-Carte Bleue is a virtual debit card that can be used to make online purchases without the real card data having to be sent over the Internet.

Bancontact Mister Cash

The debit card Bancontact Mister Cash is one of the most popular payment methods in Belgium and is issued to all customers who open a Belgian bank account.

Additional payment methods

PayPal

The payment platform enables its almost 200 million active account holders to make secure and fast money transfers in more than 200 markets worldwide.

amazon pay

With Amazon Pay, more than 300 million Amazon customers worldwide can place an online order in a web shop without a further registration process. They simply log in with their Amazon account during the checkout process.

giropay

Customers can use giropay to pay easily, quickly and securely via online transfer with the online access data (PIN and TAN) from their bank or savings bank.

SOFORT Überweisung

The direct transfer method works on the basis of online banking. Thanks to a transaction confirmation, merchants can process orders quickly and ship them immediately.

SEPA-Lastschriftverfahren

With the SEPA Direct Debit, amounts due can be collected from the whole SEPA region in euros. The buyer receives a one-off or recurring direct debit mandate for this.

POSTPAY

POSTPAY is the digital wallet of Deutsche Post. Buyers can store their preferred means of payment here to make convenient payments. Goods are then delivered by DHL.

MasterPass

MasterPass is a free "digital wallet" that conveniently and reliably stores card data and delivery addresses in a safe place. It can store all common payment cards.

Alipay

Alipay is the market leader in China and, with more than 800 million users worldwide, is one of the most used online payment systems.

eps transfer

This payment system was developed in partnership with Austrian banks to enable the processing of online purchases via secure online banking.

iDEAL

Half of all online shop payments in the Netherlands now take place using iDEAL. Buyers are directed to their bank's payment site directly, where they can make the transfer.

AcceptEmail

The easy way to pay bills by e-mail. The payment is carried out via a secure transaction site, where the buyer selects their preferred payment method.

paysafecard

One of the global market leaders in the field of online prepaid payment methods and part of Paysafe Holdings UK Limited.

Skrill

Skrill is a digital wallet in which the customer can store their preferred payment method and make the payment with their Skrill account.

Factoring

BillPay

For payment by installment and purchases on account, BillPay offers a one hundred percent payment guarantee and takes over the entire risk management process, dunning and the processing of chargebacks.

Klarna

With Klarna's payment methods purchase on account and payment by installment, customers can shop with no risk at all. They complete the order, receive the goods and only pay for these afterwards.
